were commissioned to proceed in the Steamer to Whampoa where they had the presumption to stand security for Mr. Tak Han in the purchase of a steamer and for the private negotiation of a small loan with Messrs Landsten & Gensing for the buying of some Quising.
The beater (?) of that firm wrote to us asking for the reimbursement of the debt which had been contracted by these two officers for the purpose of carrying on their own private trade and not for the purchasing of the "Bang Nice Steamer" which is the property of our Government and not of Mr. Tak Han.
